About

I'm Celia, the lady behind the blog.
Writer by trade, bookworm by choice.
Lover of live performance and the theatre.
Always a daughter and a sister.

I have been blogging for a few months before the creation of 'The Bravery Blog'. I met the best kind of people and really enjoyed the experience. A few weeks ago, at the beginning of October, my life took a very unexpected turn. My father died of a heart attack. I decided to leave my old blog behind as macaroons, tearooms and pretty dresses suddenly felt very trivial.

The past couple of years haven't treated me too kindly. In 2011, my mother lost a very long battle with cancer. In 2012, my first love cheated on me and chose someone else at my lowest point. In 2013, I started the year falling ill with a Bell's Palsy and ended the year without my father. There's a quote by Helen Keller that says: 'Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow', and this is what my blog is all about. While acknowledging the terrible times I'm struggling through, I'll also document the littlest things which make me smile.

I hope you find some of the positivity you find here inspiring too. I'm so glad you visited.

  1. Celia, so happy to see you start another blog, but I'm so sad to hear that all this stuff has happened to you, and so sorry. I think Bravery blog is a perfect name for this new venture as you're clearly so incredibly brave to go through all this and still come out with the extremely positive attitude that you do! Meeting you at ROH that time was such a pleasure and it was amazing to meet someone so clearly enthusiastic and talented, and I just know that you're going to go far in life. Can't wait to see what you come up with for your new posts!
